Washing Instructions for Ankara Fabric
1. Hand wash or use a gentle machine cycle
Hand wash with cold or lukewarm water to preserve the print and prevent fading.
If using a washing machine, select the delicate or gentle cycle, and place the fabric in a mesh laundry bag.
2. Use mild detergent
Choose a mild, non-bleach detergent. Harsh chemicals strip the color.
Avoid fabric softeners – they can dull the vibrancy.
3. Wash separately
Especially for the first few washes, as Ankara may bleed excess dye.
Don’t mix with whites or light-colored clothes.
Drying Instructions
4. Air dry only
Do not tumble dry. It weakens the fibers and fades the print.
Hang or lay flat to air dry in shade, away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
Ironing & Storing
5. Iron inside-out
Use a medium to hot iron, but always iron on the reverse side to protect the design.
6. Store in a cool, dry place
Fold neatly or hang on padded hangers.
Keep away from moisture and direct sun.
