The Sarampaso African Mask is known by the braided hair in knots. The hair nots are made from the fern tree. It also has a hanging beard knot also made from fern as well. The hat is made from sisal that was used hold the mask on the head. The white color used on the mask is made from white chalk from the riverbed.
